@Sophistifunk
I agree. I came to it when it was rebooted and really enjoyed it. So much so that I had gone back and watched all of the original old ones I could find...including a series where the video was lost but they "cartooned" the audio. It was clever if not cheesy!
But I watched half of the first episode of the new doctor and haven't watched it since.
It's like everything else that gets woke, it turns to hot garbage.
Broke my leg #running in March. Ran 16 miles before work this morning. Attached is a photo of the moon and Orion at my mid point this morning.
@JustJim @ParkerTechGuy each kid gets one birthday dinner there. We have several kids. The food...won't get worse, so I see this as a chance it'll get better.
Does anyone else use an internet cafe type setup with their kids?
We forget to kick them off, and don't do very well tracking how much time they have had for the day/week - it's getting a bit excessive.
We need something that can run on windows, and locks you out when your turn is finished. Needs to be time credit based (e.g. you earnt one hour for cleaning up your room , or daily ration of time) not clock based
@thekatatonic @ParkerTechGuy I drove through Hell one February day years ago with a friend. It was all snowy and frozen over. Disappointing.
This 1963 report on how the Communist Party wanted to take over America is so relevant for today that it's unreal
@freemo oh. Right. Yes, I'm referring to numbers as they're communicated to the public. We can't really blame the public for running with the only information made avaliable to them, right?
@freemo How was it? Historically accurate?
@freemo yep, agreed. That's why it was a problem when the state was only publishing on their official covid data website what you call a pointless tangent with no relevance! Glad they fixed that.
@freemo Yes, of course they couldn't update the official covid death numbers for past dates without having a separate, previously unpublished data source. All along this is what I've been trying to communicate.
The only officially published numbers until last May included deaths presumed to have been caused by covid and deaths not presumed to have been from covid.
I'm glad that we now have both sets of numbers.
Still, many of the numbers are subjective, not objective. A covid caused death is a covid caused death whether there's any laboratory confirmation that a person had covid. If for no other reason than we know there were not enough tests avaliable at different times in different places, so some had to make a presumption. That's the best we have and we can work with that.
I'm interested in being just not civil, but excellent in interacting with others of different viewpoints in an online world where we can so viciously defend our echo chambers and be so dismissive of other perspectives.
Because this is less and less possible here, I'm largely offline and am not sure if I'll be returning. It was fun back when civility was a trend on qoto.
