I'm interested in being just not civil, but excellent in interacting with others of different viewpoints in an online world where we can so viciously defend our echo chambers and be so dismissive of other perspectives.
Because this is less and less possible here, I'm largely offline and am not sure if I'll be returning. It was fun back when civility was a trend on qoto.

I know I talk alot of shit about trump, and I really dont like him much. But I must admit, he has done an amazing job handling the coronavirus so far.
Here are some of the things he has done that I am fairly pleased with:
1) Every year he has been in office he signed into law year-after-year budget increases for the CDC
2) He quickly barred incoming flights from both china and europe once cases became significant
3) he quickly issued a state of emergency and orderer the deployment of a US navy quarantine ship to help
4) His administration approved covering all costs for mandatory medical testing and quarinting for COVID-19 patients...
5) He issued a 1,000$ UBI to all american citizens to help alleviate financial problems.
He definitely did a better job than the last few presidents did when handling H1N1 and SARS.
Sorting through a box of wires during #covid19 preventative isolation... I think it's finally time to get rid of my handspring charging dock.

Where did you hear this? Lying and hate speech is covered under the first amendment.
The only cases where they aren't is when they cause tangible harm to others (lying about somebody causes others to attack them, or damages their reputation so they can't get a job, or hate speech that inspires others to commit real-life harassment).
And most non-violent calls to action should be okay, too.

So it's not the number of deaths, but the percent that people are reacting to. Makes sense to me to see the two differently. Not a fan of hysteria or panic, but logically they're significantly different by the very numbers in the meme.
Maybe with more testing the numbers would be different, but the meme seems a bit off.

Am I doing the math right? This means H1N1 had a 0.18% fatality rate, but Corona has a 2.86% fatality rate?
Maybe that's why people see Corona as worse?

"No weapon formed against us will prosper" (Isaiah 54:17a). Wish everybody realized that those born again have been bought with a price (Calvary). As such, The Lord can do whatever He sees fit. He’s also The CreatOR while we humans are merely the creatED.
Ultimately, everything becomes a demonstration of the Power of The Lord in front of the kingdom of darkness.
One thing to keep in mind is that The Lord is Sovereign, and the devil needs permission before trying any stunt (Job 1:8, Job 2:3, Luke 22:31), but any stunt he tries ALWAYS backfires in the life of someone born again. The O.T. principle of how The Lord operates in Genesis 50:20 says so.
