I noticed you are with Andy.
That's why I replied to @cwebber@octodon.social
I don't know #RMS personally and I disagree with him on MANY MANY things. Even when we talk about #FreeSoftware I think he is too moderate (and I'm a catholic Christian so you might guess by yourselves on how many other things I deeply disagree with him! 😉).
But the arguments of Andy are poor. As the arguments of the crowd that got is head at #FSF.
#Software is a form of expression, so software #freedom IS freedom of expression.
Andy joined the crowd that lynched #Stallman for what he WROTE (conveniently misreading it, to be precise).
If you know that Stallman did any crime towards women, you have only ONE thing to do: denounce him and provide evidence to the police.
Each day you delay his trial is a day more you are accomplices of his crimes.
I'm very serious on this.
There is nothing else to do when you face a crime.
If RMS did any crime, denounce him.
Otherwise, please, stop this.
@cwebber@octodon.social @dthompson
Smell like there are several power games at work in #GNU and in #Guile right now.
And since I've followed all the drama around #RMS' mail and I've seen how a crowd of people lynched him for what he SAID, I can't say I'm shocked by this reaction from Andy.
I've read his words before and I see how he is trying to profit as much as possible from the shitstorm that is on #Stallman right now.

Where's the original blog post?
The most important program in my whole career.
🤣

#Chromium is not much different from #Firefox: both depends on #Google money.
@yogthos@mastodon.social
#GAFAM controls #WHATWG too and #LivingStandards follow the predominant implementations (guess who is predominant) so, despite the rhetoric there is no openness (nor #Freedom) in such "Open Standards".
As for #W3C I think this comment express well the state of affairs since years: https://www.w3.org/blog/2017/12/whatwg-working-mode-changes/#comment-96140
Which browser is consuming much more power than competitive ones? @3rik presenting interesting numbers and thoughts on #digital #sustainability in connection with #FreeSoftware at the @fsfe GA.
So, what's your guess?
On sait qu'une série de téléphones Android récents et d'autres datant de quelques années sont vulnérables. One could say that there is no link between #freedom pursuit and #wealth, and according to liberals and their #propaganda / #marketing / theoretical framework there isn't any.
But statistically, groups that collect wealth just pretend to fight for freedom.
After all wealth is a form of #power and power restricts others' freedom.
So ultimately rich philantrophism is just a marketing investment. Or a form of corruption. Or, most of times, both.
#Mozilla's wealth come from #US companies that work in the opposite direction of what they pretend to do. So they align with their interests.
We shouldn't forget what #OpenSource is: a marketing tool.
They want to be confused with the #FreeSoftware built from the #hackers they marginalize, but they have nothing to do with us.

For a no profit organization it's pretty wealthy thanks to its commercial patners: from #Google to #CloudFlare, I don't think we can qualify #Mozilla products as #free.
I think there is an inherent flaw here.
We need secure and programmable distributed operating systems as the #Web surrogate is insecurable and highly inefficient.
But no system can be secured if it mix data trasfer and code distribution.
Even just data transfer alone can produce weird machines. But any protocol or format that mix programs and contents is dumb and dangerous. People should always be aware of the difference between programs they WANT to RUN and informations they want to LEARN.
Even if code IS data and data IS code, their usage as code or as data should always be a conscious decision of all the human that it affect.

Do you prefer to be added to the organization or to get the t-shirt we must pretend that you are external?
This is a great task. 😉
There are several tools there and most should be rather easy to port. A couple of them might actually be a bit more tricky since they manipulate binaries. But actually we just need to replicate what the go implementation is doing.
Ok I created the new mailing list at jehanne@freelists.org and they should activate the list within 24 hours afaik.
I think people don't need the right solution (since nothing is right in every context) but they shouldn't have to accept the worse one.
My take is that we should follow a different paradigm: http://jehanne.io/2018/11/15/simplicity-awakes.html
Ehm... I forgot it exists! :-)
Yes, I copied Harvey tools when I started in 2015... sorry. Time to throw it away and move to freelist.
I'll do this tonight.
Uhm... as for craziness I think nobody can beat #Jehanne...
