Cultura #STEM e cultura #umanistica devono dialogare. Anzi, bisognerebbe evitare di continuare a considerarle culture diverse. Il sapere scientifico/tecnologico deve innestarsi su un pensiero di base umanistico che consenta di fare scelte più consapevoli dei problemi e dei valori in gioco.

Hey everyone, a supernova just went off in Cassiopeia!!!! Right now it is in the early stage so only visible by telescope but after a few days it is likely to be visible to the naked eye. Supernovas are fairly rare so might want to make some time to see this one!

Il condono, anche se lo chiami #pacefiscale, è un voto di scambio tra politici e clandestini del fisco che premia la furbizia antisociale, umilia le persone oneste, violenta il diritto e rende la legge più "uguale" per alcuni che per altri, proprio come piaceva ai maiali della fattoria di Orwell. Chi fa condoni invece di rendere il fisco più equo ed efficiente, e quindi più pesante per i milionari e più leggero per i redditi da 5 cifre in giù, non avrà mai il mio voto, solo il mio schifo.

In case you missed it, Google Play recently removed the @Tusky Mastodon app without proper explanation.
Tusky is one of the best Android Mastodon apps, with nothing controversial in it at all. It's quite disturbing that Google can and does act like this.
An alternative and much better way of getting Tusky onto your Android device is by using the independent FOSS app store @fdroidorg

People who do not understand CAP theorem, recursion and basic economy will soon realize that scammers are neither conservative nor progressive. They just want to fool people to give them real money in exchange of nothing. In the case of crypto-currencies, the "ownership" of a few bits is that nothing, and they represent the promise to fool somebody else to do the same.

Some of you know I've started a blog called FOSS Academic (fossacademic.tech). I'm exploring life as an academic who tries to use as much free and open source software as possible. You know, being a lonely humanities Linux user at a university.
I'm writing to solicit questions people might have about being a FOSS Academic. Or maybe to solicit comments on the FOSS Academic Lifestyle Dream. Not that I know all the things, but I'm curious what questions people have about this area, if any.
