Rabbi Markowitz, who was born in Uzhhorod and served in the Israeli Defense Forces, is especially passionate about this cause, as it is part of a project to support Ukrainian and Kyivan Jews in the Ukrainian Defense Forces. During his visit, Rabbi Markowitz spent time with the wounded soldiers and children who were evacuated from the war zone, offering them words of encouragement and support.
