🕯 9:00 - minute of silence
Rest in Peace

Combat medic Ihor Metkyi died on June 23, 2022 in Donetsk region. He was 37 years old.

Igor from Rivne region. Mastered the profession of an ecologist. For some time he worked in his profession, but his soul lay in something else: he liked to do things with his hands, he was fond of computers, he never refused if he was asked to fix or adjust something.

Before the invasion, he worked at the Kvasiliv Foundry and Mechanical Plant.

In March 2022, the man added to the ranks of defenders without hesitation.

"He was extremely well-read and intellectual. Remembering what kind of student he was, his school teacher said that there probably wasn't a single book in the Kvasyliv Library that Igor hadn't read. He was a true patriot and loved Ukraine above all," the Rivne RDA said.

Igor is survived by his parents and brother.

An Exorcism as a Torture Method?

A Ukrainian soldier said he was tortured by Russian separatists and forced to undergo an exorcism, partly because of his evangelical Christian faith.

Viktor Cherniiavskyi is now a first-person view (FPV) drone pilot, but he said he was a chaplain to evangelical Christians in the Ukrainian army in 2014 when Russia invaded the Crimean peninsula.

While serving as a volunteer in the city of Luhansk in eastern Ukraine, Cherniiavskyi said he was captured by Russian-aligned forces.

During his 25 days of captivity, Cherniiavskyi said he was held in a basement cell in a prison in Luhansk, where he said he was beaten with a baseball bat, had unloaded pistols shot at his head, and was repeatedly tasered.

⚡️A top Republican says Russian propaganda has infected the Republican Party, the Washington Post reported.

In an interview, Rep. Michael McCaul said that Russian propaganda had 'infected a good chunk of my party’s base.'

“There are some more nighttime entertainment shows that seem to spin, like, I see the Russian propaganda in some of it — and it’s almost identical [to what they’re saying on Russian state television] — on our airwaves,”
McCaul said.

He also cited “these people that read various conspiracy-theory outlets that are just not accurate, and they actually model Russian propaganda.”

Asked which Republicans specifically he was talking about, McCaul said it was “obvious,” before staff intervened and asked that the conversation go off the record.

Some bad news .

😡The Russians shot Ukrainian prisoners of war in Krynky.

One of the Telegram channels published a video recording of Russian soldiers shooting three captured Ukrainian servicemen. The description under the recording states that the event took place near Krynky.

The recording shows that a representative of the Russian Armed Forces fires several shots at unarmed stationary soldiers.

Currently, Ukrainian law enforcement officers, under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, are investigating violations of the laws and customs of war and intentional murder.

A reminder the last time a mad dictator " Hitler " commited genocide , how it all ended.

The 22 defendants at Nuremberg represented the highest echelons of Nazi power, including three of the top generals that led the war, Alfred Jodl, Karl Dönitz, and Wilhelm Keitel. The highest-ranking member of the SS was Ernst Kaltenbrunner, while foreign minister Joachim von Ribbentrop and Albert Speer, known as Hitler’s architect were among facing trial.

The sentences ranged from 10 years in prison (Dönitz) to death (Keitel, Jodl, von Ribbentrop, and Göring, although he committed suicide before he was due to be hanged). Hess was jailed for life, and died in 1987, while Speer served 20 years, was released and died in 1981.

There were notable exceptions to justice at Nuremberg. Hitler, of course, had committed suicide in April 1945 as the Soviets closed in on his bunker in Berlin, as did Joseph Goebbels, who committed suicide along with his wife after poisoning his six children.

Adolf Eichmann, one of the architects of the Holocaust, escaped Germany when it fell and ended up in Argentina where, in 1960, he was tracked down by Israeli agents and flown back to Tel Aviv to face trial. He was convicted and executed in 1962.

After the attack by Ukrainian drones on at least four Russian airbases, the Russians could lose more than a dozen planes and fighter jets.

This is stated by the U.S-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) think tank.

It is noted that satellite images from April 4 indicate that there were three Tu-160 strategic bombers, five Tu-95 strategic bombers, an Il-76 cargo lifter, and a Tu-22 bomber at the Engels Air Base; 10 L-39 training and combat aircraft, five An-26 transport aircraft, an An-74 transport aircraft, an An-12 transport aircraft, four Su-27 fixed-winged aircraft, four Su-25 fixed-wing aircraft, one Su-30 fixed-wing aircraft, and several Ka-52 and Mi-8 helicopters at the Yeysk Airbase; and 29 fixed-wing aircraft, primarily Su-34s, at the Morozovsk airfield.

Analysts point out that currently the geolocation footage shows explosions and Russian air defense systems activating near all air bases, except for the air base near Yeysk with no visual evidence so far that Ukrainian drones have damaged or destroyed aircraft or infrastructure at any of the air bases.

However, “Ukraine’s ability to strike four separate airbases in one strike series represents a notable inflection in the capabilities that Ukrainian forces are employing in their campaign against Russian military infrastructure, critical infrastructure, and strategic industries within Russia,” the report said.

🗞🦀 Tyrant, despot, dictator, “mad Vlad.” After the “re-election farce” and the legitimation of torture in Russia, influential Western media stopped calling Putin president.

Western countries are still in no hurry to declare Vladimir Putin an illegitimate head of the Russian state, although debates about this have taken place in the EU . Unlike politicians, the British, French and German media are calling Putin “president” less and less often, the Moscow Region noted.

Dictator and despot.

👉 “The Kremlin tyrant gives a speech,” a photograph with Putin is signed on the pages of the German Bild. The publication uses different synonyms for this word: dictator, tyrant, and has practically stopped using the term “president”.

👉 The British newspaper The Telegraph also began to use the term “dictator” in relation to Putin. The tabloid The Suneven calls Putin “paranoid,” “crazy despot,” and “mad Vlad.” The newspaper sharply criticized the Russian leadership for torturing alleged terrorists from Crocus City Hall, as well as for the arrest of journalist Evan Gershkovich, who has been in jail for a year.

Not the president, but the head of the Kremlin.

👉 “Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin is calling up 150 thousand people into the army,” this is how the photo was captioned for the Sueddeutsche Zeitung article about the start of conscription. The German publication also almost stopped calling Putin “president.” Journalists call him “the head of the Kremlin.”

👉 In a similar way, Putin is characterized by Frankfurter Algemeine - “leader (chief) of the Kremlin.” Other German publications began to use this terminology, in particular Spiegel and Welt : “After a presidential election criticized as a farce, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin celebrated his victory and the tenth anniversary of the annexation of Crimea.”

👉 Putin is also called the Chief of the Kremlin in French Le Monde and Liberation (Le maître du Kremlin).
@ukrainejournal

Ivan Fedorov, head of Zaporizhzhya OVA, comments on the situation in the temporarily occupied territories (TOT):

According to Putin's decree, the regions have until April 15 to send conscripts (18-30 years old) to assembly points. There are no exceptions in the document for TOT.

We must understand that on TOT:
▪️ all men and boys starting from the 9th grade must register at the Military Commissariat;
▪️ Children's accounts are formed in schools.

‼️ So I once again call on our people to leave. After all, it is extremely difficult to avoid conscription, as well as any oppression or attention of the occupiers to the TOT.

➡️ It is important that according to international law, it is forbidden to mobilize and conscript the local population. But what does international law and human life mean for Putin, in principle?! The question is rhetorical.

How right he is! 😡

He slit his throat and cut off his ears: a “hero of the Northern Military District” who returned from Ukraine brutally killed two farmers in the russian federation

According to local media, on April 4, a car was found in the Sal River that belonged to an employee of the Verkholomovsky Agricultural Cooperative who disappeared the day before.

The body of its owner, chief engineer Andrei Likold, was recovered from the trunk of the Mitsubishi Outlander. The killer had tied this hands and feet, cut off his ears and slit his throat.

The body of murdered cooperative worker Yuri Moskovoy was also found in the river.

On suspicion of committing these murders, the police suspect Volgodonsk resident, Artem Bukotin, who returned from the SVO and was awarded the medal “For Courage,” and his accomplice.

Did the “defender of the homeland”, having returned to civilian life, become a killer? Or is this just another everyday conflict based on personal hostility and disrespect for the “hero” ?

🌎 From other news in the world:

✈️ In the USA, an incident occurred with a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-800 aircraft - the engine hood flew off and hit the flap. It was at an altitude of more than 3,000 meters, with 135 passengers on board. The plane was returned to the airport of departure. The US Federal Aviation Administration will investigate.

▪️ In January, the emergency exit door of a Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft broke off during flight. This became a serious crisis for the company.

But - I thought the sanctions were imposed on russia... ?!

⚡️ Trump's advisor denies alleged plans to push Ukraine to cede territory.

An advisor to Donald Trump, the U.S. Republican Party's presumptive nominee for the 2024 presidential run, refuted claims in the media that the ex-president would push Ukraine to give up some of its territory if reelected, The New York Post reported on April 7.

The Washington Post wrote earlier the same day, citing undisclosed sources, that Trump had privately said he could end Russia's war by pressuring Ukraine to cede Crimea and Donbas to Moscow.

"The whole thing is fake news from the Washington Post. They're just making it up," Trump's advisor, Jason Miller, told The New York Post.
