The Ministry of Defense is testing two models of women's body armor with a curved plate. They are being tested during exercises close to combat. The ministry says that the new design takes into account the peculiarities of the body structure and the wishes of female servicewomen.

In the video, the sides of the vest clearly show damping inserts, elements that are not present in men's models. They fit snugly to the body and serve as protection.

After the "field" trial wear, the manufacturers will conduct laboratory tests. Based on their results, the Ministry of Defense will approve the reference samples, which will be adopted and ordered.

There is a new decision by the Netherlands to strengthen Ukrainian air defense — additional missiles for the Patriot complexes, — President Zelenskyy

Zelenskyy said that he and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte met in Odesa. Rutte's visit to Ukraine was not previously reported, apparently for security reasons.

There is generally no fatigue from the war in Ukraine among Americans, although interest has waned. The US population understands that this is an important war and Kyiv must win it, — former US ambassador to NATO and head of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs Ivo Daadler in a POLITICO column.

"The reason that politicians actively use the issue of Ukraine in their political rhetoric is only that the percentage of those who support Ukraine among Republicans is smaller, and it is gradually decreasing. However, even now the majority of republicans are in favor of military support for Kyiv in the war.

Whatever happens in the American Congress, the majority of Americans support Ukraine in the war with Russia, and the majority is in favor of military and economic aid.

According to recent results of a survey by the Council on Global Affairs, 63% of Americans support sending additional military aid, and 61% are in favor of economic aid. And if we compare it with the results of the poll last November, support for the first question has decreased by two percent, which is within the sociological margin of error, and for the issue of money allocation, by five percent. Also, most Americans understand and accept the fact that the war in Ukraine is dragging on. Only 14% of respondents believe that it will end within a year, 34% believe that it will continue for more than a year, the same number speak of a period of two to five years, and 15% believe that active hostilities will last for more than five years.

Therefore, the best scenario now is to support the allocation of $60 billion from the budget to Ukraine, which would be enough until the American presidential elections next November.
The majority of Americans support this step — it's a matter for the politicians," said Daadler.

Avdiivka is currently embroiled in continuous fighting for the fourth day, and the situation is described as highly challenging by Vitaly Barabash, the head of the city's military administration.

According to Barabash, the ongoing conflict has been marked by relentless confrontations, including intense rifle battles and artillery duels, with both sides deploying all available resources. Aerial strikes, including air rocket attacks on the city itself, have further intensified the situation, creating a highly volatile and dangerous environment for the residents.

The Ukrainian soldiers have faced a substantial number of enemy strikes, making it difficult to provide an accurate count of the attacks. Dozens of these strikes have targeted Avdiivka itself, and the Russian forces have displayed a relentless determination, continuously attempting to storm the city, both day and night.

The Russian occupiers have employed a significant number of armored vehicles in their attacks, launching assaults in columns against the positions held by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Barabash emphasized that the Russian forces are actively working to encircle Avdiivka, concentrating on flanking attacks from the north and south. Despite these efforts, the city's defenders have so far prevented the encirclement from being completed.

Additionally, Barabash noted that the Russian forces are not limiting their attacks to front-line cities and villages; they are also shelling rear settlements. For instance, during the night, the enemy targeted the villages of the Ocheretyn community.

Logistics in Avdiivka have become increasingly challenging. The supply of humanitarian aid and basic goods to the city has been halted, despite the heightened conflict. Nevertheless, the city has stockpiled essential provisions to sustain its population for several months.

💥 Special Operations Forces report that in the morning they blew up the train of the Russian occupiers in Melitopol, cutting them off from the supply of ammunition and fuel in the Zaporizhzhia direction

Ukraine buys 60% of Chinese Mavic drones

As the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal stated during the Kyiv International Economic Forum, this year about 40 billion UAH (approx. $1,2 billion) were allocated for the purchase of drones of Ukrainian and foreign production.

According to him, the government is trying to promote and speed up the creation of the Ukrainian drone market.

The International Monetary Fund has acknowledged three significant achievements in Ukraine's efforts to stabilize its economy.

Firstly, the restoration of economic growth is noted as a substantial accomplishment, with the IMF forecasting a growth rate of around 3%. This falls within the higher end of their range, which had been set at 1% to 3%.

Secondly, bringing Ukraine's inflation rate down to single digits is recognized as a noteworthy achievement, particularly given that maintaining low inflation can be challenging even during peaceful times.

Thirdly, the presence of solid international reserves in Ukraine is highlighted as a positive development. These reserves have enabled the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) to implement measures for managed exchange rate flexibility.

Kristalina Georgieva, the Managing Director of the IMF, also emphasized the importance of Ukraine making substantial progress in terms of cost control and other factors, such as the restoration of declarations. These achievements represent significant steps toward economic stability and growth in Ukraine.

British intelligence reports suggest that Russian long-range aviation has refrained from using missiles for nearly a month, speculating that this period of inactivity may be attributed to their efforts to stockpile these munitions.

Notably, it has been 21 days since Russian planes last conducted strikes in Ukraine, marking a significant hiatus compared to the prior pause from March 9 to April 28, 2023.

The report posits that this pause might be an indication of Russia's intentions to preserve and increase its stockpile of AS-23 missiles, possibly with the aim of launching heavy strikes on Ukraine during the winter.

Furthermore, it's worth noting that the Russian Federation plans to manufacture a substantial quantity of ammunition in 2024, with an emphasis on resuming production of Kalibr and X-101 missiles. However, it is reported that not all of their production plans are proceeding as anticipated, as stated by Vadym Skibitsky, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
