Wow. Two-ish days of mildly active posting and I get a trans- and homophobic reply on a post that has nothing to do with either. I NEVER get that on the birdsite and I have a pretty healthy following plus getting into a ton of good trouble there. This isn't a good look.

Absolutely adore seeing the same rhetoric here that somehow life isn't political and that politics can be hidden. Was psyched to see folks from scicomm.xyz reiterating that politics is life and isn't something you can imagine away.

My entire job is political, I'm not putting all my posts under CW. My instance doesn't require it, nor do all instances. I appreciate the sentiment but when you work in healthcare, vaccines, etc. we are faced every day with politics. Science is inherently political, as are many other people's livelihoods.
