Hey folks! Please! If you're trying to help your friends finally, at this late hour, migrate to mastodon...or even this instance...please remind them that there are real people running these instances. And most of us are volunteers.

Running an instance has become a very demanding and challenging endeavor.

When someone publicly says it's "crap" that my instance, or any instance is closed, it doesn't inspire me to open the door to them.

Remind them to be kind.

This is not twitter.

Across so many instances, admins and moderators are trying to avoid total burnout.

We could really use everyone's help with this new wave of new folks. Help them find an instance they might enjoy, and show them how to follow folks on other instances.

Explain about CW and alt-text on images, and help them learn their way around and get comfortable with this new space.
