A couple weeks back Munich decided to put wearing masks as a recommendation while on public transit.

It is quite astonishing how many people simply stopped wearing them because it’s not the law anymore.

This brings up the question of how many things people do just because it’s the law and not out of principle.

Example: would people still wear their seatbelt if it wasn’t the law?

@barefootstache Having visited a few countries where it is not the law, I can say with some surety that no they would not. Also it is possible to fit 16 college students in the bed of a Ford Ranger.

@barefootstache If my dad is any indication, nobody would wear seatbelts.. ;P

@trinsec @barefootstache

I wear a personalized mask regardless- COVID is just an excuse for me that normalizes it. I take it off/down though in front of those I’m particularly close or familiar with.

Ain’t no-one need to see my ugly mug…

@barefootstache

Not as often as I did a couple years ago. I’d like to eventually engineer my own multi-function mask someday.
