I seem to have accidentally tended towards invertebrate keeping in recent years. I have raised death's dead hawkmoths, painted lady #butterflies , hatched out atlas and ceropia #moths .

A Scarce Silverstreak (Iraota rochana) spotted at Ulu Sembawang Park Connector, Singapore, on 23 October 2022. A rare butterfly, this location has lately become one of the places where they can be commonly spotted.

@timnitGebru It has to be exhausting to be Black on fedi.

I wonder what the rest of us could do to help? One (long standing) critique I've heard by Black users is that blocking is unidirectional - I can block you and not see your content, but by default you could still see mine. Maybe we could campaign for that issue to be addressed, which would add friction to harassment?

Or, you know, we could all agree not to be awful to each other. 🙄

I don't think Mastodon or the fediverse has ever received this much attention before. It's a great opportunity for people to finally see that social media can be done differently, that it can be a protocol not under control of any single company.
