I believe that food and shelter and human rights and, therefore, their production and distribution should not be handled privately for profit on the market.

Homes should not be an investment; everyone should be guaranteed a roof over their heads. Maybe we should cap ownership to two or three per person.

The entire distribution chain from farm to grocery store should be nationalised and run publically and not-for-profit.

We should have the explicit goal of feeding and housing people.

I keep seeing that terrible misinformation post about donating random perishables and non-food goods to the food bank. DO NOT DO THIS.

Your local food bank needs donations of MONEY, they can typically get 4-10 meals per dollar donated, way better purchasing power than an individual has.

If they have a list of needed goods, donate only those! Anything else is likely to get thrown away!

I know it’s more fun for kids and such to donate goods, but it will go to waste. Also volunteer your time!
