@pseudonym
. . . My intuition is now useless. I would have bet actual money that this would not work this far.

If anybody gets a text about a possible fraudulent Zelle transfer, and then a call from somebody supposedly from your bank asking to verify account balances, it's probably a scam. I almost fell for it. I didn't give out pin and/or card numbers, but it was a near thing. #scams

Prejudice toots that "fish" for replies so as to accuse people of prejudice.

@empiricism

Really? :)

That link doesn't work; I suspect it's specific to your session, or has expired.

I am pretty well versed in the subject. If you know things that would be relevant at this point in the conversation, feel free to contribute!

@empiricism

:) I don't know you well enough to say, of course; but it's my definite impression that every adult human has some form of prejudice. It's often subconscious, of course.

But that's really a tangent.

The main point is that there is not necessarily anything objectionable about members of an oppressed group doing something, even if members of another group doing a similar thing would be objectionable.

Because history has treated different groups very differently, and the repercussions of that are very much still with us today.

@empiricism

Um, sure? :) I mean, I think EVERYONE (including me) on social media (and everywhere else) has some form of prejudice and some form of ignorance. We're all only human.

But that doesn't mean that members of an oppressed group wanting to be able to talk about their particular issues without having others comment, and politely requesting that people obey that wish, is "racism" in the same way it would be for other groups.

Asking a group to please not come into a discussion, is not necessarily judging all (or any) specific members of that group.

Stunning botanical illustrations by Anne Pratt, born on this day in 1806, who as a middle-aged Victorian woman became one of the greatest scientific illustrators of all time themarginalian.org/2022/06/29/

@SapphicLawyer
Yes!

And if you even hint that you know this, you're likely to be excused from jury duty. So there's perhaps no reason to bring it up during the process. :)

If you are ever on jury duty in a United States criminal court, you can always, ALWAYS vote to acquit.

No matter what the law says and what the evidence says, you have the right to keep that person out of prison.

1. Supermarket prices are up 13% in the last year and profits are at record highs

There isn't much competition to keep prices in check

Now, the nation's largest supermarket chain (@Kroger@twitter.com) wants to buy the 2nd-largest (@Albertsons@twitter.com)

What could go wrong?

@celineaubert4 I'm a noob painter and tend to get distracted by multiple creative pursuits, so it'll probably be a good while before I finish this one. 😅 Here's the last painting I completed though! Gouache on paper. :)

Until I found out that I am #ActuallyAutistic, I thought my perfectionism was the reason, that I often couldn't enjoy most situations other people did. There always seemed to be something disturbing, even painful, I haven't been prepared for (e.g. wrong clothes) while other people just enjoyed the situation. Now that I understand certain aspects related to autism like sensory issues, I also have a different view of my personality. I am not lacking flexibility, contentment or a "positive attitude", the opposite is the case. For that reason self-education about autism is so important and like many others, I suspect there are a lot of people out there, who don't understand themselves and even have been diagnosed with PDs, but are just undiagnosed autistic people.
