@h_albermann @eirliani @austinkocher @Mastodon For myself, I'm most apprehensive about problems of scale - moderation at scale is a Very Hard Problem™, and even at relatively small group sizes is an effectively endless stream of unpleasant and typically uncompensated labor.
Similarly, impersonation, abuse, and bad actors become much thornier problems with greater scale. It will be interesting to see how these things are addressed as the #fediverse grows.

Hi there, I'm Bwee!
I'm either 39 or 40 depending when you read this. I live near Ottawa in Canada, but on the Quebec side in Gatineau. I reside in a nifty apartment with my mate Wah, two cats, over a dozen arachnids (mostly tarantulas), and a ball python.
I'm basically just a cute fluffy dragon on the internet, doing my best to uplift my friends and spread genuine positivity while also fighting for what's right.

So! After 30 minutes at a nominal 170F (the lowest this oven goes), the slices of peeled ginger were somewhat drier, but still flexible. Two additional 30 minute periods at the same nominal temperature produced no discernible further change, so I just minced them up rather fine and dumped them into the batter.
The recipe called for 2 tsp of ground ginger; I used probably 3-4 tsp, loosely packed, of minced slightly-dried fresh ginger root.
(A reader kindly linked me a recipe that calls for the ginger to be finely grated or "microplaned" and then made into a sort of paste; probably a good idea for next time, although also might involved work.)
The result is quite good! Not amazingly gingery, but somewhat, and so far there have been no confirmed reports of obvious bits of ginger causing an undesirably nonhomogenous eating experience.
