Rage is punitive.

It has no answer to abuse but more abuse. It has no answer to violence but violence. It looks at a system that exists to consume people, notes that the system is consuming them, and then demands an even more predatory system, one that consumes somebody else first and worst.

Rage’s response to harm is to demand more harm. It's response to punishment is more punishment. Its response to a manufactured lack is to demand more lack.

He talked about electric cars. I don't know anything about cars, so when people said he was a genius I figured he must be a genius.

Then he talked about rockets. I don't know anything about rockets, so when people said he was a genius I figured he must be a genius.

Now he talks about software. I happen to know a lot about software and Elon Musk is saying the stupidest shit anyone's ever said, so when people say he's a genius I figured I should stay the hell away from his cars and rockets.

All the folks involved in the Apollo missions, particularly 11, must be fucking furious. They spent God knows how many hours per day working shit out to the 9th decimal place when “computer” was a job title not a device, day in day out with the stakes considered the highest they’ve ever been, and pulled off the moon landing. And in 2023 there’s a consequence-free manchild wondering “how about this?” aloud, and shooting a rocket into the sky that just fucking explodes and his response is “lol”

Funny enough, the same men feel too uncomfortable to participate in events encouraging women in CS simply because the room might be more than 70% women. Didn't realize my wireless plan capped tethering speeds, but now it makes sense. When your phone gets ~10-15 mbps and your tethered computer gets .5 or .6 consistently, you know they're screwing w/ the service you paid for.

Welp, I'm ashamed it took me this long to realize, but changing the TTL on my computer seems to have released the throttling.
