There are four schools of thought that each have their own ideas on how scientific peer review can be improved. Wolfgang Kaltenbrunner, @stephenpinfield, Helen Woods and I have revised our paper on this topic https://doi.org/10.31235/osf.io/v8ghj. Hey! Im a researcher of host-microbe interactions with a focus on bees! My research group is based at the Silwood Park campus of Imperial College London. We're particularly interested in exploring how microbes transmit & what their impact is on pollinator systems. Where possible we try to employ new techniques or combine multiple cutting-edge processes at once.

In #JapaneseFolklore there is a belief that objects can develop a spirit or soul once they reach advanced age. This usually happens around their 100th birthday and it can be seen as a reward for their years of service. The objects are thereafter known as #tsukumogami, a type of #yokai which basically means 'tools that have acquired a spirit.' If they have been neglected or treated badly they may not be much fun to have around.

This is the first time I see the subject of my studies - #telomeres. Thanks to my colleague and friend Sara Sandin’s team, telomeres were captured by cryo-EM in human cells as little spheres of chromatin lying just under the nuclear membrane.
