#introduction

Hello #ScienceMastodon et al!

I'm a scientist who researches how ions cross cell membranes. I study ion pumps, exchangers and channels which are all amazing nanomachines. My lab is at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland (US).

I also direct a PhD training program in Cellular & Molecular Medicine so my hands are full with all things relating to grad ed.

Expect prolific #foodposting and pix of my handsome #AustralianShepherd Samwise.

@kristinmbranson @deeMahishi @qoto.org @NicoleCRust If you open in a browser, to the right there’s a list of links, some of them are to explore all posts within qoto.org (the “local” feed) and another for all posts of people followed by accounts within qoto.org (the “federated” feed). Also the search autosuggests hashtags after typing a fee characters, that helps too. What I’ve also been doing is reading through the list of following of people I’m interested in to see who did they find. It’s all quite bespoke and random search so far, I’m no expert on .

#introduction I’m a #volcanologist and #geoscience communicator. I research how #volcanoes work and their impact on people and the environment. Dedicated to raising awareness of the critical role geoscience plays in #sustainable development and for society through media engagement and as Co-Founder and Director of the Earth Futures Festival. I advocate for #equity, #diversity and #inclusion in geosciences and co-founded #WOMEESA

@kristinmbranson or anyone on @qoto.org - do you know how to discover other interesting blogs from the server? I joined this server for generally interesting networking with STEM and other scholars. But I’m, for now, only seeing within neuroscience peeps.

The 8th (!) CSHL Scientific Writing Retreat starts in a week and a half. It's an annual program run by CSHL Meetings & Courses and a great success. I'll drop ideas and tips here in hopes of establishing the #ScientificWriting hashtag. For now, check out an interview with the two co-organizers, Dr. Charla Lambert and me. #CSHL

Hi Mastodon! Another migrating neurobiologist here - I’m a sensory neuroscience postdoc at Cornell University working on optimizing functional imaging of circuits using in awake, behaving mice.
Looking forward to the new chapter here!
