I'm waiting for the new users to say something here and welcome them :mastodance:

@Sphinx You can also post a welcoming post without a name inserted.

Make it nice writing, include a nice and relevant image. Repeat once a week or so, changing the message and image.

In personal welcome messages to new users, I always like to include a couple of Mastodon Guide links -- most new people need that, the Fediverse is VAST and Mastodon itself is full of controls and settings, privacy levels, Federation, etc.

Guide is definitely NEEDED.

@design_RG
Good advice,
I feel like there is more serious problem or phenomenon is they got their account post a hi to everyone message and never come back(•_•)

@Sphinx I've seen that too. For me it took some time since I made some connections and started to figure out how things work here. I believe it's discouraging for many.
When I joined mastodon a few months ago I was greeted by @design_RG (even with a link to a Mastodon guide in Spanish) and that helped.

@miguel31416

Miguel -- if you do come across a good or awesome Mastodon guide in Spanish could you let me know? I have read many in English but not so much is available in Spanish; so a native's recommendation would be great. Thank you!

@Sphinx

@design_RG I remember I found some interesting guides but right now I can't locate them. I'll search later

Wonderful - Thank you! I am going to read and add it to my references. I just read the LifeHacks guide that i recommend all the time, read it once again this morning - and still find it very good. I remember it was were I learned to understand this new place I had ventured into.
