Weil ich gerade mal wieder darüber stolperte. Wie kürzt Ihr 'Bibliothek' ab? Ich kenne von früher nur Bibo. Ist das ostdeutsch oder sogar regional sächsisch?

One thing about living in a colder climate is that it's a lot harder to deny cars have an impact on climate change because you see the clouds coming out of tailpipes when the temperature drops.

For some reason on the way home tonight I started wondering what percentage of a cars exhaust was CO2. So I started doing a little searching on it.

I quickly found something that broke down the components of car exhaust. But then I realized I needed to know how many pounds of exhaust are created per gallon of gas. A few clicks down that rabbit hole and I ran across this:

One gallon of gasoline weighs approx 6 pounds. But those 6 lbs of gas produces about 20 pounds of CO2! This is due to the freed carbon atoms bonding with oxygen in the atmosphere.

This just completely blows my mind. I've always been a "car guy" and love cars and automotive culture but future generations are really going to hate us over them.
