Systems modelling explains: A #cybernetic theory of the molecular processes in #COVID-19 predicts oscillatory #inflammation and virus load in severe forms, which result from increased #TMPRSS2 expression.
Severe #COVID-19 is a life-threatening condition, sometimes requiring #ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) therapy. In one of our studies, we found that oscillatory inflammation heralds a poor prognosis.

There is an ongoing debate in #endocrinology about whether to treat #hypothyroidism with L-T4 alone or a combination therapy with L-T4 and L-T3. But what about patients’ preferences? The majority would choose the combination therapy, as shown in a meta-analysis.
