New on mastodon, time for an #introduction!
I'm eqyo from the Netherlands π³π±, I'm in my twenties and studying #mathematics & #computerscience. I am also: a semi-agnostic churchgoer βͺ, not exactly straight but still figuring things out π³οΈβπ, and very much into #classicalmusic π».

I see myself posting about my life, about #philosophy & #politics, maybe about some #foss-related stuff...
I'm kind of expecting most people to use "he", as that is kind of a common assumption in nerdy parts of the internet.
On the other hand, one might expect most people to use "they" because they don't want to assume (by the way, don't worry in my case, I'm telling you to assume!) or because they just don't know.
Or maybe people will use "she" because my profile picture and banner are drawings of flowers?
If the goal of this "experiment" were to see how people perceive me based on my words and behaviour, it would be a very bad experiment given all those potential other factors.
Lastly, I want to explain a bit why I've chosen this instance, QOTO: I like having discussions and think it's important, no matter the issue, to engage with people who have opposite opinions about that issue.
Both to help them not fall into an echo chamber, and to steer clear of them yourself.
This instance, with its "inclusive free speech" stance, seems like a good place for that.

@eqyo Not a fan of Gabber? We don't know each other but we have similar interests. I'm a Mathematician among other things. An American, active in Comp Sci, 30 and interests including extreme sports.

I've not yet said whether I'm a "he" or a "she". The answer is: I'm not telling π.
This does not necessarily mean I'm a "they" either - I'm just leaving it undisclosed, as a sort of experiment.
Feel free to assume any of the three.
