I know most of us are grumpy at the time change, cold weather, and busyness of the winter months. Tell me though, please….What little things do you really look forward too about this time of year, or get to rediscover your love for around this time? For me it’s long sleeve shirts. I feel like I’m wearing armor basically compared to what I wear during the summer months.

I would love to downplay the significance of the errant missile that killed 2 people—as it’s clearly not an “attack” on a member state—but remember the world went to war over a Prince dude getting shot by a Serbian nationalist. That’s how easy things can escalate. I pray the U.S. plays a role of de-escalation, despite its bellicosity. We cannot let this suck the world into

On Low's Instagram page, Alan has shared a lengthy message from Zak Sally, bassist for them from 1994 to 2005.

You will want to take the time to read it carefully. It is likely the best thing about music and much more you will read this year.

Online moderation often seems like one of the better ways for a society to see its reflection. People have been banned for parody accounts with parody in the name because they made fun of you-know-who.

A story in two parts.

#WeAreGoing #Artemis1 I am both excited and nervous for this new rocket launch! Not just because it is an inaugural flight but so proud the launch manager is NASA's first woman launch director! You can learn about the mission and crew at www.nasa.gov/feature/artemis-i…

First opportunity is 0104 ET 2022-11-16 which is also a significant date in NASA history. Here is the NASA Live stream for anyone willing to stay up with me to watch!

Cozy long sleeved shirts - layers of them! Heavy blankets in a slightly chilly room. Cookies that I only get at Yule. Sweet and creamy hot tea in big mugs.
Thanks for posting about this. The "little" joys really are the important things.

Tonight I have for you a song that deserves it’s own indie movie. Blake Mill’s “Hey Love” would have been the soundtrack to my life if I would have found it back when it first released. Am I destined to discover great music after it’s time. Possibly, I grew up on a lot of classic rock so not being apart of the scene from who’s music I loved was expected. Don’t let this one become classic rock on you though. youtu.be/RpfudOZ_pjU

@flsounds fir me so far Metatext is best overall, Tooot nicest to look at, I’m hopefull Mammoth (in beta) will develop past the rest.

CJ boosted

@flsounds I was using the default iOS app, but I switched to beta testing Mammoth (sent this Toot using it) and invested in Toot (for iOS). The latter hasn’t been updated for over a year, but is still brilliant.

@flsounds I used the Mastodon app for a couple of days but then moved to #Metatext and love it

@flsounds @pomCountyIrregs I also think almost all the functionality from the browser version is available

@flsounds I’ve started using tooot and apart from the fact I sometimes get confused about whether I’m reading mastodon or twitter (especially when there’s lots of RT’s) I like it. It gives me the fedi and the local which I didn’t get using the mastodon app, but you can’t beat using it on the website which for me makes it reminiscent of the early days of social media where you consciously sat down to check social media rather than mindlessly scrolling whilst you wait for something else, especially with the detailed content it makes social media feel less like filler and more satisfying somehow.

@apinae @flsounds I’m also liking it so far and, yes, it runs on iPad from which I’m using it to toot right now.

@flsounds Ugh. Yeah - and a lot of these people are intentionally trying to get folks to follow them so they can inject their hate later, so may be putting forward innocuous content now to get boosts and follows for awfulness later. It happens. The important thing is that we look out for each other and share information as needed.

@flsounds I hear Tusky is the best but costs a couple bucks. I've been using Metatext.
