Glad to see Noelle over at the wonderful elekk.xyz instance make this post. In all my dealings with her she has always shown to be a person of excellent character. My only fear is I hope this post isnt used against her in some way.

By the way I took some suggestions and made some minor edits to the about page today. It was mostly wording, no rule changes, so i didnt announce it. But the goal was to make our moderation policy more clear earlier on so they dont think "free speech" means "no moderation"

A lot of unjust and not really meaningful accusation in this topic, I'm not sure I understand what the problem is and why admins don't reach out to us before deciding stuff.
The subscription feature without following is shaking everyone, as if it wasn't possible with a simple rss anyway. This is so weird.
I'm not sure I'm ready to enter in that arena of discussion on such a bright Saturday morning though

Thank you Noelle for coming out and defending our instance. I was surprised by some of the responses (for example, statements that Qoto qould be scrapping posts from other instances databases regardless of their Privacy settings.
There is some animosity and some ignorance all mixed together it seems.
Peopl suggesting anyone interested in observing one or more GAB accounts should go there and create a naccount ignore that this would increase the person's exposure to them greatly (as in, IP logged in that system, versus pulling a post from a remote instance without a Follow relationship.)
I agree that our About More pages could use a revision to avoid the impression of a "freezepeach", no rules, instance - which Qoto isn't (I am part of the moderation staff myself).
