I miss the CD caddy type CD drives.. really sad they went out of existance. They made so much sense for protecting and storing CDs...
@zleap for sure
@freemo Nice idea if you don't have hundreds of CDs. Remember to be IT admin keeping full shelf of various installation CDs. Nobody would buy me CD caddy for every CD.
@Rado1 well yea, the ideal would be that all cds would come with or be sold with a caddy.. make it so the cd is permanently inside the caddy.
@freemo It exists. It's called MiniDisc.
@Rado1 yea i have those. They are only used for music and if you used them for data they would have a fraction the capacity,., still would be cool if they had minidisc drives for computers
@freemo Sony screwed up MiniDisk the same way as Betacam. A lot of limitations preventing wide usage causing high price.
And even, it came too late. Few years later there was a first mp3 players.
@Rado1 Yes sadly true.. with that said I still use minidisc as my music system instead of CDs .. assuming im not using digital.. so they must not have gotten it completely wrong :)
@freemo yeah cd / dvds are too easily damaged.
