The moderators didnt raise any objections to you being a moderator, the next step would be to put your nomination up to the community for comment. After we hear community comments we will make a final decision and in that time you can begin learning the ropes and showing how you'd behave as a moderator (help us welcome people, contribute to discourse discussions, etc).

At that point if the community and us still like what we see we will give you moderator privileges on a probationary basis, and then shortly after that youll be a full moderator if all goes well.

@freemo

That is very nice.

May I suggest that Sphynx could possibly create a Topic on the Discourse Forums, and explain a bit about his views -- what he would like to see here, what he would do to make it happen, general comments, etc.

I think that is an interesting reflection moment for someone aspiring for a leadership position.

This prompted me to look around reddit for mention of QOTO.

Seems there are several threads where QOTO is mentioned. Seems every time someone asks for a free speech instance QOTO is almost always recommended by the crowd.

I' glad we kept "free speech" in our ToS (it got reverted if you guys remember). Its also why Sphinx joined. It seems more and more clear to me free speech is a huge selling point for many who come here.

Apparently something I said really one over this one user too :)

The first post I saw when I joined was one of the mods saying they were getting shit for supporting both gun and LGBT rights, then suggesting we should look at issues individually instead of grouping everything together. It doesn't get very political there but I saw that as a good sign.
