It is known for being a weed place, but they still have the highest density of bikes of any country, so they are clearly at the top of the list for cyling... with that said even their weed use is more of an image than reality. The vast majority of dutch dont even smoke.

Well to be fair most of those are accurate, at least to a point. You have windmills everywhere, people still wear clogs when gardening, you grow more tulips than weed, and there is raw hering within walking distance of anywhere yo ucould hope to be :)

In the area I live (outside of utrecht in the country area) it is quite common, my neighbor wore them all the time and all my friends who have parents with gardens told me they all used them as gardening shoes.

wooden ones, and yea, very much the norm among my friends and the area I'm in.. keep in mind my friends are native dutch and they all agreed that clogs were still used for gardening among the older generation. It coudl be regional though I dunno.
