OMG I just learned about TempleOS, the religious operating system. He even wrote his own version of C called HolyC... this is amazing!
@icedquinn So it would seem. From what I read he had Bipolar and would hallucinate during manic episodes where god would deliver him specs on the OS.. most of the design descisions he said were told to him by god.... yea......
@icedquinn The specifics on that arent clear. He was formally diagnosed bipolar, but he had also declared himself as having schizofrenia. so hard to say which one it really was.
The more severe class of bipolar will often look like schizofrenia, hallucinations and all.

@freemo Note that HolyC is interpreted/JITed and used as the shell language in TempleOS. TempleOS really feels like a C-based LISP machine, if that makes sense.
