So im pretty sure I have either Giardia or Ascariasis and I'm really hoping its giardia... I guess ill find out soon enough when these antibiotics either work or dont...
The only reason I think it could be Ascariasis is because I have a cough and that isnt very common with giardia.
@Pat its not as bad as it sounds just yet, but no not the best.
Well get some rest and drink plenty of fluids (which I'm sure you're losing a lot of right now.)
@freemo Those diseases seem to be pretty common in 'developing countries'. Go to the doctor, do not diagnose yourself. Get better.
@mc a doctor wont really be an option for a week when im in israel. Sadly had to go with the antibiotics and self diagnose on this one
@freemo You need proper medical attention before whatever you have makes you too weak and susceptible to other illnesses.
@AmpBenzScientist Well the hope here is that the antibiotics will be the right solution. By the time I get to israel if there is no improvement from the antibiotics then the next step is to see a doctor and hopefully get a better treatment.

First a broken leg, now giardiasis. Rough vacation.
That's cool that you can get meds very easily there. I've never heard of ascariasis, but reading about it, it sounds pretty awful. Looks like you could diagnosis it yourself fairly easily if you could get access to a microscope. But I'm sure the local docs there see it all the time so they should be able to diagnose/treat it.
