I refuse to refer to people with the name "Sean" as if it is pronnounced "Shawn".. there is no logical explanation for such a pronunciation... No you are pronounced "seen" and you get no say in it!

@freemo I just pronounce it as se-an (sejan)... Dutch style. :P

@freemo It's pronounced "John", though.

@freemo
Not to mention Seamus and-- the worst-- Sinead.

@AndyLowry @freemo I'm sort of surprised that Siobhan, Padraig, and Aoife don't make the list. ๐Ÿ˜‰

@freemo This presumes that the source language for "Seรกn" is English, which of course it isn't.

@knottedthreads @freemo And even if Seรกn was English, since when has English pronunciation had anything to do with logic? His surname could be Featherstonehaugh for example

@bykimbo Luckily for Ireland I do not value either of those things.. in fact, sanity is quite the burden to be honest.

@freemo @bykimbo
I have no life.

I am insane in the membrane.

Does that grant me diplomatic impunity in Ireland?

@lucifargundam You'll fit right in. As will @freemo Please, both let me know when you're going so I can get tickets!

@freemo Seems like an odd thing to be concerned about.

@klyons The fate of the english language rests in the balance! This is no small thing

@freemo No logical explanation at all...well, unless you count things like it's from another language lol. I guess you also pronounce the French Jean (male) like it's the singular of jeans? ;)

@freemo my first UK manager defined himself as Shawn
