The infrastructure decay here in bangkok really gives a sort of dystopian future feel... its like something out of the movie Brazil.

@freemo It's like they're advertising to please not go look up.

@trinsec its everything here.. like every road looks like an american ghetto just instead of drugs and violence it is kind hard working people with amazing food and hand made products...

@freemo @trinsec Just inspired me to watch Brazil again. (You mean the Terry Gilliam 1985 version I assume?)

@freemo I mean as a brazilian
The country of Brazil is not really different

@Sp id love to visit brazil too... always assumed the movie was nothing like it.

Honestly the biggest seller for me to want to see brazil is the song "the girl from ipanema", but in the original language. Portugese is such a beautiful language, as are the brazilian women.

@freemo I didn't watch the movie tbh, just heard about it
But those overhead cables are the norm, given that they're cheaper and our cities tend to change a lot, fast

@pch_xyz i ubderstand how this happens. Too many people and no room to build infrstructure

@freemo I saw someplace in Japan and China has the similar situation, where the city/street is pretty old, but no one want to fund a refurbishment. So they just replace the power pole and add more wires.

Also, at least they're just wires, not camera🤣
