I wonder if democrats even realize that even if they are objectively the best choice, the overwhelming toxicity from that community to any level of criticism results in massive number of voters who are going to vote for trump purely as an emotional response to being mistreated by the community.. purely out of spite.

In fact at this point I think Democrats and the way they treat people is probably the only real reason Trump is part of the landscape at all.

@freemo The question nobody is asking is WHY are a lot of the Democrats so nasty and hostile? The behavior of both the radical trans and the pro-Hamas factions, the way they go into a physical rage when someone questions them, looks almost like demonic possession. Where does that fury come from?

@mike805 My sense is that a whole lot of it comes down to rebels without a place to direct their rebellion.

They need a The Man to fight against, but given the state of the US government they don't see much to fight against there, so they start making up monsters.

@freemo

@volkris @freemo If someone ever comes in and provides a place to focus their rebellion, then things will get interesting, in the Chinese curse sense.

Right now nobody has a viable vision of the future. Some have an imaginary past they want back. If a leader could provide a vision of the future he could kick over this hollow and rotten system.

@mike805

I mean last time this happened we had most of the USA burning to the ground for months on end... I even agree with them about the whole thing and all, but that doesnt justify literally burning down businesses, homes, and facilities.

@volkris

@freemo @volkris And one of the worst things that happened during that time is that Trump wanted to bring in the National Guard and put down the rioting, and the permanent bureaucracy refused to obey his orders.

Anyone on either side should see that as an outrage.

@mike805

Yes we shouldnt just be outraged at democrats for burning houses and businesses to the ground... we should also be outraged that Trump wanted to enforce the law and make it so people couldnt burn down houses and buisinesses... truely him wanting to stop innocent people from being burned out of their homes and businesses is the most evil thing he ever did.

LOL come on. Trump is super evil and there is PLENTY to dislike about him... But when cities like mine were literally on fire (for a week the skys were black from the smoke) him wanting people to be held accountable for their violence is probably the lowest priority in the least of reasons to be outraged at Trump.

@volkris

@freemo @volkris The part I was outraged about was his orders not being followed. I can see that my original statement was ambiguous. Any President has the duty to put that sort of thing down.

If Trump tried and his orders were refused, then the bureaucracy committed a crime. If Trump did not use all the executive authority at his disposal because he was worried about the optics, then Trump committed a crime.

The National Guard should have gone in.
