@Algot @Curator I'd say there is some disagreement, but thats not the same as conflict. I dont think anyone is upset.

@Curator @Algot I see. Well you are of course free to run your server by whatever standards you wish. Personally I'm not sure why anyone with an unlocked account cares who follows them. If you cared you'd lock your account. But thats just me, fee free to block starfleet if you'd like but he adheres to the netiquette set forth and agreed upon by most admins.

@Curator @Algot Starfleet is an autofollow bot, but it also honors the flag and responds to commands to unfollow (if you dm it to unfollow you it will do so). Does that not follow your rules?

As for the other two bots, as I said, they do not follow anyone under any circumstances, so no need to block them. Also all their posts are unlisted so they wont even show in your federated timeline if they are followed.

@Curator @Algot Do you feel one of my bots is in violation of the rules you posted? Neither of the two bots in this thread autofollow, or follow anyone under any circumstances.

@Algot @time @HN @Curator I'm the owner of the bots. When i first created the accounts I was going to make them my aspects, so I followed anyone who followed me. I decided to turn them into bots though instead (they dont follow anyone automatically).

The purpose of the @HN bot is obvious, just posts Hacker News. The point of the Time bot is to remind you of the time in your feed, and the time in other countries. This helps give context to toots since they are always displayed in your timeline in chronological order. So easy to get a sense of the time something was posted as you scroll through your timeline.

Our toot space and STEM focus is certainly pretty unique. The way i see it if a user wants to make short toots, they can, if they want to make large toots, they can. Thats between you and the people you follow.

I have no idea why @time and @HN

have followed, but if it serves a useful purpose, go for it.

I am intrigued by the STEM focus and the ridiculously large toot space, though.

CC @Curator

Storm damage from yesterday. They're saying we got hit by something called a "microburst"

@lerk@comm.network Can you share this nazi's toot or profile? I'd be curious to see what constitutes a nazi around here.

@GeekDaddy@octodon.social Point was, unless you engage with people often they are likely to mute yur posts. Everyone I follow is muted unless and until they engage with me (exceptions being truly interesting people).

@Gargron Hands-down communication. There is nothing about gargon that makes it software development related. Except maybe the fact that it was developed by someone, but by that logic everything would go under that category.

@bob Yea but how frequently will the fine be applied so long as facebook is in violations. Your calculations assume at most once a year. If however it were once a day then it would be a much larger portion.

@GeekDaddy@octodon.social You've only got 54 followers and i suspect they dont talk to you. You need to engage people in conversation first then they engage back.
