But somehow, this is a democratic witch hunt?

It’s wild that not a single PH authority seems to be mentioning that masks, stockpiled everywhere, are an effective filter against forest fire smoke haze.

Want to help the bees?

1. Stop using pesticides. This includes "green" pesticides and mosquito misters.

2. Plant a diversity of flowers, if you have space.

3. If you have land, leave some bare patches, as most native bees are soil-nesters.

4. Leave dead trees and plants to stand for the wood and twig-nesting species.

5. Vote against politiicians who are insensitive to environmental concerns. You know the ones. Out with them.

6. Vote for politicians who expand protected areas.

Bunge, Cargill, COFCO, Amaggi, ADM do Brasil, Viterra and General Mills bought #soy and #corn in an area where “grain laundering” is admitted by producers and civil servants.

The illegal crops came from areas on the border of the #Amazon Rainforest which had restrictions for production, but the real origin of the grains were concealed through paperwork.

The revelations come from a joint #investigation by the Brazilian news outlets Repórter Brasil and O Joio e o Trigo.

Certainly, one wilderness fire does not show climate change. Certainly not 2. Nor 3.

However, if year over year the numbers keep increasing for number of fires and size of each fire, there is something different. Alberta has had over 500 so far this season.
So many do not want climate change in the political debate of the province even now but if not now, when? Do those who have lost homes and business in a growing list of towns want to talk of it??

Tomorrow is decision day in #abpoli. If you live in Alberta, and haven’t noticed, there’s an election going on right now - and basically it’s a toss-up between the centre-right edition of the NDP under Notley, or a far right, radicalized party in the UCP under Danielle Smith.

The decision made tomorrow will be whether we move fast, or we take a bit more time. If we get a UCP government, I want to be out of AB by the end of the year at the latest - I will not be a target. #abelxn
