@trinsec the magic of reading is exactly that. You can stop, slow down if you need or rush through a less interesting passage. None of that is available when someone sets the reading pace for you.
As you say, it is exactly as with movies. It works great with fiction, as it is more immersive, but also if you feel tired and need more time to process the information there’s no way to slow down the pace except pausing every now and then or going back 15/30 seconds.

Today’s pluralistic.net - Death panels post is extremely disturbing. Hard to read, but a good reminder that we need to keep politicians accountable for their despicable actions (or inaction). https://pluralistic.net/2023/04/26/death-panels/
@Pat but a short and polite version of my thoughts: it’s interesting how a handful of hands are seeing their wealth increased exponentially but bankers, politicians, CEOs and other influential (and usually rich) people are telling us that we need to get used to being poorer, that we overspend, that we need to assume life’s gonna be worse for all. Yet they ignore the big issue, which is money is just changing hands to make the rich richer. So, even shorter version of what I think: eat the rich.
@Pat I’m sorry, I was intentionally vague and tried to make a snarky comment. Probably I should add some context. I normally tend not to publish strong political stances on social media, as I’ve seen the backlash people I followed got back at the birdsite. Here, however, interactions have been way more civil.
I meant that if I wrote what I think regarding the headline and what was that person said at the interview I would definitely sound extremely rude, so better to say nothing.

Lo he rellenado, a ver cuánto cae.
As a non-coder, I felt incredibly proud of myself when last week I managed to set up a macro for ImageJ that lets me execute a selection of actions on all image files within a chosen folder. It’s about 20 lines of code, but it works like a charm. I even coded a “Batch processing done” final message!
