Since starting my diet i have lost 8 lbs in 5 days so far. This has been my lunch every day, a handmade bagel with mexican Oaxaca cheese and some potassium salt, toasted. Dinner is usually a hamburger with cheese and bacon. That's all i eat in a day, no breakfast. About 1500 calories a day.

@freemo I once lost 28 lb in just over a month. It involved no alcohol and no cheese as well as a slightly reduced input. Not much fun, but I felt a great deal fitter!

@iankenway alcohol will kill you and cheese .. i dunno cheese is ok, not the healthiest and a bit on the calorie dense side, but not horrible. i think the alcohol alone would have made a huge difference.

@freemo Yes, that's correct because it''s not just about the calorific overload of alcoholic drinks, but the slowing down of the body's metabolic rate, though very high levels of alcohol use/abuse can lead to the very opposite effect, namely weight loss!

@iankenway Well its not so much the metabolism itself, though that is a factor, its more that it creates a huge insulin spike that causes you to get hungrier in the long run.
