"Hoist with his own petard" (Wiilliam Shakespeare - Hamlet)

Certainly the BBC has now been hoisted by its own petard.

For many years, the Corporation has been allowing fringe views, including those on the far right, privileged exposure in the name of 'balance'. The supreme irony is that what has been shown repeatedly by media analysts as not only an establishment but also a right-of-centre media channel, has been characterised by Boris Johnson and his cronies as a 'left-of-centre, 'woke', 'thorn-in-the-flesh' obstacle.

In normal times, you would be rolling in the aisles at the idiocy of the claim. But, sadly, these are not normal times!

The truth is that left-of-centre views are not properly represented in UK broadcasting in any meaningful way.

Yes, I know that the left-right division/dichotomy is passe, so let us choose better terms. I'm very much for that!

Nick Clegg is a failed politician. His ill-informed defence of Facebook lacks any credibility.
