The owner of a border town bed-and-breakfast named "Smuggler's Inn" is facing charges related to helping people slip into Canada.

Canadian officials have filed 21 charges against inn owner Robert Joseph Boule, including two counts of "organising illegal entry into Canada".

The Event Horizon Telescope, incidentally, is a fantastic example of a large scale decentralised non-governmental collaboration.

That black hole image was taken using 8 separately managed radio telescopes scattered across the planet. It was organised by scientists working in 60 different research institutes in 17 countries across 6 continents. With no motive beyond trying to learn something which they didn't know before.

The once despised Chinese internet has become a shining example for governments in the West that wants to tighten their grip on the web even more. @iankenway Somehow we moderns have largely corrupted the word philosophy to mean something fuzzy to do with morals and maybe some navel gazing.
Really, it was the original science of everything. Our 'science' got branched off into Natural Philosophy and that's the only bit most peope care about today.
