Thomas Jennings, a free-born New Yorker who became a leader of the abolitionist movement, made his fortune as the inventor of a dry-cleaning process called “dry scouring.” Born in 1791, Jennings was 30 years old when he received his patent on March 3, 1821. @lauren Depends. I think some of the EV makers want to be the ONLY source of fixes (a la Apple).
On the other hand, cars are becoming more and more expensive, so fixing them may become more important, not less.
Also, are car repair skills transferable? I broke down in South Carolina near a truck repair place that fixed my Honda and the 18-wheeler and RV while we were in the waiting room.
P.S. Some things in an EV just can't be fixed.
