I totally agree; in fact, being European, I'm surprised it is only almost two-thirds. You have no idea how pissed is people around here.

The only US thing people is not thinking of replace is fiction (films, comics, books...).

If Trump ruins Warner too, there will be no exceptions soon.

A supermajority of people in the US support trans folks' civil rights.

"In a new survey of over 1,000 respondents, 85% of Americans believe that 'transgender people should have the same rights and protection as everyone else.' The sentiment was agreed upon by 92% of Democrats, 76% of Republicans and 87% of independents. The survey was conducted by research firm SSRS and funded by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation."

"Three ICE agents arrived. They first encountered Ms. Rickling and her husband in the lobby. They told us that they didn’t have a choice, they said they had to take Annie,” recalled Ms. Rickling. She said they apologized.

“I begged them not to take her,” Ms. Rickling said. “They said the higher-ups made them do it.”"

JUST IN: Maine is about to become the first US state to ban new data centers.

And 10 other states are right behind it.

Maine wants to freeze massive construction projects until late 2027.

The bill passed the Democratic-controlled House (with Republican support). The Senate is expected to follow. Gov. Janet Mills backs it.

And right now, at least 10 states are advancing similar bans.

AI runs on electricity. MASSIVE amounts of it.

One large data center uses at least 20 megawatts of power. That's enough to light up 15,000+ homes.

And someone always pays for that power.

Right now? You do.

When data centers flood a state, power demand spikes. Utilities raise rates. Homeowners get the bill.

Data centers need land. They need water. They need MASSIVE amounts of electricity.

The next 18 months will decide whether the AI energy problem gets solved or gets worse.

My therapist said I need to find things to keep me busy, so I created the @cdnspace Artemis II dashboard.

I reverse-engineered the Unity Engine powering the NASA AROW visualization and found an absolute treasure trove of data to display.

Little did I expect that it's now being seen by anywhere from 200 to 600 people at any given time with 130,000 people having looked at it in the last 24 hours. People are even building projects around my API.

Yesterday, I received a message on LinkedIn from someone working in Mission Control in Houston... and they're using my dashboard! He even sent me a photo, but I can't share it until after the crew has splashed down.

Mind blown, and an absolute pick-me-up. The best part? It's being served from my basement.

Watching Fedi and the world react to the US president go absolutely unhinged in public, threatening war crimes as his cognitive grip disintegrates before our eyes, watching the horror and the outrage…there is something I want to tell you from Minneapolis.

And I’m not sure how, and I’m not sure if I can, but I want to try. People are always thanking us and calling us heroes and asking us for some kind of…something, anything we can offer in the face of the authoritarian march, and well, here it is, here is something, if I can figure out how to say it.

Looking at the designated replacements, I shudder thinking what could happen if he dies.

Just imagine Hegseth as president for 2 years and a half. Or Vance or Rubio.

Enough to wish to leave not only the planet, but the entire galaxy.

'Doesn't make any sense': Young Aussies can't justify fuel costs to get to work

> Young people are taking extraordinary steps to deal with the fuel crisis, including cutting back on work because the cost of fuel to get there is now higher than the money they will earn for the shift.

It could and I would be surprised if it hasn't.

The nofollow attribute value marks links as something to be ignored by search engines, so they don't affect their ranking and making useless for SEO purposes. Many sites put it for that purpose, Wikipedia is a good example.

So the only way putting links here can help a spammer is if people clicks in them, the same as spam emails do.

Horrifying and eye-opening paper of the day: "Wait, There’s Torture in Zootopia? Examining the Prevalence of Torture in Popular Movies"

- in which the authors find that 60% of the 20 top-grossing films each year over a 10 year span (2008-2017; N=200) depict torture, including 45% of PG and 65% of PG-13 rated films; and that instrumental torture (torture used to obtain a specific outcome other than punishment) was depicted as effective 73% of the time.
