So, apparently the plastic recycling symbol isn't actually a recycling symbol. It's a "resin identifier symbol" (designed to look like the recycling symbol though, to confuse the public) and doesn't actually mean the material you put in the recycling bin is recyclable...which basically means all the due diligence we do to try to prevent environmental damage and personal bodily harm via micro plastic exposure is literally for nothing... Mircoplastics are in bloody fruits and veggies now somehow; we can't get rid of them, so clean eating is basically impossible.
When do we finally collectively pull our heads out of our butts and realize the lobbyists are nearly always the bad guys who sell the health of entire generations just to make a buck? I'm so done with this.
@lucifargundam I'm assuming you mean the resin identifier code part.

Here are a few videos as well:

"Please be fooled by my botspam into watching these videos I want to promote."
@Pat @lucifargundam what is botspam?
@Pat @lucifargundam I assume it means that you think I'm posting via some sort of automated script or something, but if you actually did your due diligence and looked into my post history *at all*, rather than slinging meaningless accusations, I think you'd be convinced otherwise. So I wanted to clarify your position rather than just immediately inferring you were being unreasonable.
I posted numerous videos along with the first link, because he asked for a source, so I provided a few since you shouldn't back up your claims with a single source, particularly if it's not an academic journal. At least, that's my preference since I don't think mommy blogs and unsubstantiated social media posts are particularly credible. Also, if you looked at the videos and the link, they are all related to the topic I posted, and on completely different channels.
I'm really more confused than anything about how your drew that conclusion, but quite frankly, I don't care; have fun trolling around qoto I guess.
It's not a troll, it's a test. This instance has been inundated recently with algo-driven accounts that exactly fit the form of the postings you made. So, if you ain't one of them, then you ain't. If you are, you are. At this point, I'm still not sure. (Sauce)
@Pat @lucifargundam I've been conversing with Freemo et al for nearly a year IIRC. So why would I suddenly start spamming when I actually enjoy talking with people here?
Secondly, if you aren't a mod (and maybe you are?) why do you have the authority to carry out this so-call "test"? Did you even look at the links I posted? They were actually related to the context of the original toot, and were only posted after someone asked for a source. Perhaps if I controlled the other account, or had access to some api or something, but quite frankly I'm too busy with research to care about shilling MLMs (or whatever these other bots are doing) on a site of people (hopefully) too smart to fall for it anyway.
Finally, do you think posting (sauce/source/spaghetti/Slovenia/etc.) without any context is going to get me to post another link? I mean, I suppose if I was a bot, then that may make sense...but this is exactly what a bot would say. Does passing the Turing test count as passing this bot test? :P
You haven't passed yet.
The algo goes like this: 1. post a med-sized toot with a question; 2. Someone responds; 3. Bot toots out spamlinks in "response" to the answer.
Since the respondent didn't answer your question, but did toot something unrelated with a question mark, and you didn't ask for clarification, but instead just post those links... it fit the profile.
@Pat @lucifargundam I am honestly no longer interested in passing your so-called "test". If @freemo has a problem with my posts that provides a source for my original claim, I'm sure he'll let me know.
Please, continue posting in this thread, but I'm done responding to you. I have better things to do.
@johnabs @lucifargundam @freemo
Okay. Failed.
@Pat
Do you really think he is a bot considering he responded to you in a way that seems fully aware of the context. Maybe im missing something but this seems like a bizare accusation to me especially considering he is an established member who has been here a while
If im to be honest, accusing this guy of being a bot seems complete bizaare to me. I dont get it. He has had a conversation, seems aware of context and detailed, and has had many posts in the past most of which look completely non-spammy.
I am as confused as john here if im being honest.
@freemo @Pat @lucifargundam Thank you for the backup Freemo; it felt like I was talking to a brick wall while I was trying to get my point across (which kind of ironic while being accused of being a bot XD)
I'm sure Pat means well enough. He doesnt have a habit of trolling. I just couldnt follow his logic here.
@freemo @Pat @lucifargundam Oh okay, fair enough. I've never interacted with him before, and after a few responses I legit couldn't tell if I was being trolled or what. At that point, I just decided to stop interacting. If you think he means well, I'll try to leave it at that :)
Sorry if I upset you @Pat, it wasn't my intention, but it was quite unexpected to be accused of being a non-"sentient linguistic biological organism", for posting requested sources to substantiate a plastic recycling post, and it was even more frustrating to try to reason with you afterwards. Maybe my snark regarding the Turing test was a bit too much; please refer to the attached image as a meme-worthy consolation XD
@johnabs @freemo @lucifargundam
These last two responses look very much like a human, sorry John, but I was trying to determine if you were a bot and couldn't determine it by early the responses.
A bot algo can very easily look for phrases in a post that are specifically querying for a bot, like "are you human", "are you a bot", etc. and present a canned defensive response, which is what your responses looked like to me.
When LucifarGundam responded to your initial post with a one word toot, "Sauce?" (which made no sense to me) and then you responded to that with a post with a bunch a links in it (without even questioning his weird toot), it looked very unusual to me, as if the first toot was intended to open up a subject, and then toot out the links no matter how anybody responded to it, which is very much what the behavior of a bot would be, if it was trying to mimic a human.
This is why I tooted some test toots, which were as atypical as I could think of to try turing out if you were a bot or not. I even put out the "sauce" word again to see how the responses would be to that.
(If you look over your early responses carefully, you'll see that a well-trained bot might be able to toot out responses like those.)
Sorry for the confusion. Kind of a shitty first exchange, isn't it? :)
Hopefully we'll have better...
Seems like you just made an honest mistake. I figured that was the case. Glad to see this response.
@lucifargundam @Pat @freemo Keep that up and you get no more sauce :P :ablobjoy:
Gosh, if its this hard for a human to pass the Turing test, we may have some issues lmao
@johnabs
Sauce?
