@cwdolunt I don’t know. Maybe Orson didn’t hold any grudges against Wise, or maybe he needed the money to complete The Other Side of the Wind.or any of his other unfinished projects.

In all the interviews I’ve read, he blames the studio more than Robert Wise himself, though. Actually, he’s more critical of cinematographer Stanley Cortez. Wise is barely mentioned, if at all.

@strypey

@cwdolunt You can’t expect a good movie from someone who launched his career by betraying Orson Welles. (And, yes, I’m familiar with Robert Wise’s filmography and accolades. He still just a sellout in my book.)

The Wrath of Khan is much better, because you can always expect good movies from someone who went on to direct The Day After.

@strypey

@kingu_platypus_gidora Those two words, “some men”, make the tweet (and, by extension, the whole research) inane and useless. Of course some men will do some crazy shit. There’s people for everything.

@hfaust There’s also something nice about showing other people places you’ve discovered on your own.

@kingu_platypus_gidora I’m usually there alone, and, for my particular case, it’s mostly accurate, except for the fact that I’m even closer to the stage. That said, the blob is too big. I normally am the only one there.

But you’re right: very few teenagers around.

@mangeurdenuage At some point, he (honorary she?) will understand that manliness has nothing to do with height.

@mangeurdenuage Why? It wasn’t even that successful, as far as I recall. And I don’t think it was aimed at women either.

@sampo But why were they on your porch instead of somewhere else not attracting beautiful wild animals?

@alex

@RL_Dane I’d say Slackware is the distro that checks all those boxes best, including being the most BSD- or UNIX-like one.

Disclaimer: I’ve been using Slackware since 1999, so I’m biased.

@kingu_platypus_gidora Being a Cyanide and Happiness strip, ending on a happy note feels kind of creepy.

@urusan Why would anyone do something like that? I, for one, even feel uncomfortable taking pictures in crowded places.

@urusan Governments and corporations (hence corporate government) surveil us all.
