(So glad we have corporations like this looking out for the planet!) They gave me a Why do we put up with this‽

Grrr! I hate . A few years ago I bought a @ChiliSleep Ooler to keep the bed cool so I could sleep and it was amazing, but shortly after the warranty expired it started buzzing loudly and is keeping my wife and me awake. I contacted support and they said there was no option for repair and the only option was to completely replace it. They gave me a $200 off coupon, but does that mean I’m just expected to send them $800 every two years so that I can sleep?

This is my first attempt at growing with hydroponics and aeroponics. Is a big experiment which might colossally fail… we’ll see. I’m growing basil, spearmint, bell peppers, lettuce, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, catnip (my daughter’s), & potatoes.

Hypothetically, if you were in an online meeting with someone and you saw a desk in the background where they tinkered with electronics, inventing, and stuff, would you judge them harshly if that desk was messy? (Comments welcome. Also, I'm reorganizing my office and am wondering if I should put my typically messing electronics workstation off-screen or if people might think it's cool to see a fascinating mind at work. )

All I want in life is to be the rich eccentric uncle that leaves a complicated treasure map/scavenger hunt to his inheritors when he dies and to have a tricked out super villain lair where I can build cool stuff. Is that too much to ask?

Whew! My uses a Raspberry Pi , but for the life of me I couldn't get it to serve http to a browser. I tried connecting it to an old router and it worked there, but don't want to keep using it. I finally decided I'd try the router's primary network (not the guest network) and it worked as expected. Ha! That'll show me... trying to give restricted network access to a device I don't want to be exploited!
At least there's no way to access it if you don't have access to the LAN (which in my case is important).

I can tell that this won't convince you. Most likely you'll look at this and say that these are all biased/flawed/whatever, just like when I look for counter-evidence I don't trust anything from the NRA or other obviously biased organizations.

I also think that you might be interested in this book amzn.to/406tWNb which talks about how we form our beliefs.

This is clearly your opinion.

As for your premise that other measures would mitigate gun violence, you're absolutely right and we should have better social supports, but it is also true (the data supports this) that stricter gun laws result in less gun violence.

@freemo constitutional scholars have debated the intent of these words for years. Regardless we have a major problem in the US that other countries with stricter gun laws do not have. That is incontrovertible. We must amend the second amendment.

🤔 Why do my rhetorical posts get more engagement than the ones I want engagement on?

I can't stand how buggy Fusion 360 is on an M1 mac. Anyone know of something that works better (ideally with a free tier) that supports joints, etc. I loved Shapr3d because it's very easy to use on iPad, but it's limited to only modeling and I want more than that.

Anyone who measures twice and cuts one is an underachiever. Now, I’d you can measure 12 times and cut 13 times AND achieve subpar results… that’s saying something!

Yo @Raspberry_Pi@raspberrypi.social I've been searching a while with no results. How are you supposed to change the SSID/password on the pico if you don't have access to the code? For example, if I make a pico based product and sell it, I can't just expect users to use the precoded WiFi details. 🤷‍♂️

I’ve been waiting on a rotating Christmas tree stand for several months. It has a few flaws, but it’s good enough for this season!

My fell onto and broke my foot today. I’m still planning to finish the rotating Christmas tree stand in time to use it this year.
