@NewSpaceEconomy fun fact: if you flip the original image upside down, it looks like the footprints are raised:

Nobody as invested in moss as Japan. Moss-gazing supporting signs all over the forest and I cried a little.
Do you own a website?
1. It must be a website:
1a. It links to external websites other than commercial partners.
1b. It's accessible to all without a sign-up process.
2. It must be yours:

Here is Instagram preventing me from posting a link to the web. The "Report a problem" link does nothing.
Evil.
It's so sad that people and artists in particular are generally bad at managing websites. It's so easy to create your own gallery page with paintings of other artists, directly linking to their galleries. If everyone did this, there would be an infinite gallery of artworks for everyone to visit; without ads or other imposed content.
Dear @QOTO, I'm getting a "500" error when searching for these Mastodon users on other servers in an attempt to follow them:
- @paulg
- @marius
I use the advanced web interface (screenshot). I checked that the mas.to server doesn't block qoto.org according to https://mas.to/about.
Hello fediverse, lil cry for help: I’m looking to speak to someone with vitelliform macular dystrophy caused vision loss, so I can ask about their experience with the onset of symptoms. I was diagnosed ~3 years ago and until recently hadn’t experienced symptoms, I believe I now am but would love to chat to others about their experiences. Compulsory masto disclaimer: I’m not looking for advice other than the specific ask above, thank you. Boosts much appreciated 💖
I just found out by accident that the A0 paper format is designed to have a surface area of 1 m²! An A4 sheet is obtained by cutting an A0 sheet in half 4 times, giving a surface area of 1/16 m².
It came up while playing with formulas to price artworks based on their dimensions. I was using sqrt(height * width) to obtain the side length of the equivalent square and I was surprised to get a round number for sqrt(21 * 29.7).
Not unrelated to previous posts. I'm sick and tired of artists not getting proper financial compensation for or control of their amazing work
I'm currently building an artist led game project based off tarot card illustrations

They say "I forgive but I don't forget" but it misses the main point of forgiving, which is to not be haunted by the memory of the incident.
I forgive to better forget.
The problem is that if they use political correctness, they're being shallow which is ok, but if I do, it's hypocritical.
Yes, this should work: next time I want to accuse someone of being a hypocrite (which is bad), I'll assume they're just being shallow (which is better)... as an instance of "never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity" (known as Hanlon's razor).
oh, I know it's because the authors really believe that changing words will change how people think about what the words refer to. I suppose involuntary shallowness is indistinguishable from hypocrisy.
lol, they managed to write the whole Wikipedia article about political correctness without using the word "hypocrisy" a single time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_correctness
If half of an airline's flights are full and half are empty, passengers will complain that the flights are full every time, contrasting with the assessment of the crew who report that half of the flights are empty. How do you call this effect/paradox? (I forgot)
The same effect explains that if you have an average number of friends (= popularity), more than half of your friends are more popular than you.
Or when your doctor tells you you're in average physical condition but each time you go cycling, most cyclists you come across are faster than you (because the fast cyclists are also the ones who spend the most time on the roads and are encountered disproportionately).
Tug-a-war has always been a two-burro game, but this morning for the first time I was honored to be allowed to play. #asstodon
