New: Erica Marsh became one of the most consistently viral liberal accounts on Twitter. Only problem: She's probably fake. Her account was suspended after we asked Twitter workers about it. Doesn't this kind of rage baiting make you angry? Boost if you agree

The mobile app Boost, formerly for #Reddit, will relaunch with #Fediverse support, #Lemmy at first...
"I am releasing Boost for Lemmy, you can pre-register to get notified when it is available. In the meantime you can create an account and join https://lemmy.world/c/boostforlemmy"

@cookieisdark what's the worst he can do already 😂
@nibble4bits For the first question :> you should be able to filter by language (whichever you want) in Preferences ---->others
But this will filter it across all the feeds for you.
secondly maybe give #fedilab a try it has a translation feature baked in.
#twitterrefugees #riptwitter #newbies #twittermigration Newcomers, if you are wondering who can see your posts, you can control the scope by pressing the globe symbol when you are writing. Public - everyone can see, Unlisted - use this for replies in threads - everyone can see, but it doesn’t repost in the local or federated timelines, so doesn’t clog things up, Followers only - does what it says , Direct - only to people you @ in the message. Brain changes: The lingering effects of COVID | EurekAlert!
SAN DIEGO, CA — More profoundly than previously believed, the virus that causes COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, can impact the brain for months after infection. The findings were presented at Neuroscience 2022, the annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience and the world’s largest source of emerging news about brain science and health.
The longer I spend in the AI/ML community, the more I become convinced that the major issues facing our world are political/organisational, rather than technical.
We have had enough food to feed the world for decades, yet somehow agricultural robotics is seen as a solution to "feed the world".
It's interesting to see a book on AI give a perspective on this, even though there may still be many different analyses about why this is happening, and differing opinions on what to do about it.
“Imagine your debit card suddenly stopped working because the executives at your bank were out making high-risk trades with your money while you were trying to pay for groceries” - quite the analogy in this fascinating account of a stunning act of wealth destruction https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2022/11/sam-bankman-fried-bankruptcy-crypto-ftx/672104/
If you download your Twitter archive it arrives wrapped as a static HTML page, which is not very useful for doing anything with, and worse: it requires the original account to be still active to do useful things like enlarge the images since they use t.co links.
So here's a Python script to convert a Twitter archive to markdown or other formats: https://github.com/timhutton/twitter-archive-parser
Now you can archive your tweets in any way you want.
@2ck
Atleast someone feels the same 💁🏻♂️
@Decad3nce
How about maybe markdown text support?
@sonjalondon I've heard good things about #metatext for iOS and for android i'd suggest #tusky
@lucifargundam tq let see how this goes
I just came across [layoffs.fyi](https://layoffs.fyi) Pretty boggling , it's tracking companies that's laying off employees since covid times and i don't fully understand it's mechanics yet but it has the work location (i guess) where they're laid off of from, the number of people, since when..etc and all those details
