So, DeviantArt opted in, by default, all existing art on the website for use by third-party AI.
Without notifying their users. For all existing art.
You have to go through your art pieces one by one and tick a box that you do NOT consent to this.
I learnt about it on Birdsite, by accident.
And of course, any inactive user or dead user will have their art used by AI models from now on, even though they never agreed to this.
Disgusting.
Hmm, entirely possible/likely. I'll watch out for that in future.

#cws seem to me (and I’m probably showing my age here) just like the old #LiveJournal “cut” feature, albeit not quite as flexible but much easier to use as they don’t require weird custom markup.

I would dearly love to host my own

1. while I like programming in Ruby, I hate looking after web applications written in it; and
2. I’ve already met me, and I don’t fancy administrating myself, knowing what an argumentative shit I can be.
