Fediverse instances are facing a crisis... A crisis of too many users arriving lol

@freemo @lucifargundam I've seen a lag at times in synchronising messages but haven't run into a rate limit.

Here's another couple random bits of censorship.

https://www.refused-classification.com/censorship-timelines/game-iarc/ In Australia, the previous government put a really awful censorship algorith...

I mentioned before about how enacting a strong right to free expression would help to counter silly censorship in Australia.

Something else which would assist in countering puritanism and other silly kinds of censorship in Australia would be to contact reps, senators, and other elected figures to tell them how much of a bad idea that is.

That would be elected figures in the federal legislature, the states, and territories. The states and territories have a certain amount of influence over this process.

It honestly should be very obvious that such censorship is ridiculous, although maybe not. To be on the safer side, it's best to assume it is not.

Frankly, the same applies to the United Kingdom, and defeating the nasty "OSB".

There, there are two houses of Parliament, the lower House of Commons and the upper House of Lords.

Contacting both of those would be helpful.

Noting that one of these people has gloated before, on national media no less, about how they "operated quietly and under the radar" a few years ago.

The conspiracy nut no longer shows off about being an advisor to Australia.

Did they finally get rid of him? Or is he still there just under the radar? I wouldn't be surprised, if it was the second.

The thing with Stamos though is that he was a very fringe figure (head of security for FB), until he got ejected due to a dispute with senior management.

He then made an academic career out of making noise about every little possible fault he could find with the company.

The "internet observatory" is his project. A lot of his ideas are lousy or real reaches. I'm not really interested in his vendetta with FB or anyone else.

Elon is helping free you from Twitter by making it members only. Be free, little bird.

I wonder if this is another case of them listening to an unreliable "informant"...

is testing a three strikes and you are out rule against users who use ad blockers. This bug by design or misfeature goes directly against how many users use the Web. I understand that YouTube has to make money from free tier users, but ad blocking is a simple security feature to many. There’s got to be another way, the way YouTubers make money with sponsors is good, now YouTube have to figure out something similar. bleepingcomputer.com/news/tech

Kolektiva social has been compromised. The feds raided the home of an admin for attending a protest and walked out with the database for the instance.

I see Ryukishi has gotten better at drawing lol

To be fair, it's hard for dusty fantasy world politics to compare to a murder mystery in a mansion on an isolated island where they fight over the grandfather's inheritance.

Or far better, Higurashi.

I don't find Ciconia anywhere as interesting as Higurashi or Umineko, although curiously, there are characters who are black in it.

It's funny how Former Telecom France CEO Thierry Breton wants censorship of "hate speech" which his own country's (France) constitutional court found to violate the French Constitution.
