Got my first-ever negative response to the generated art in In Dreams, since release. Honestly I'm surprised it took this long.

Here's my official response, in case anyone was wondering how someone with game published with AI art could dislike AI art in general:

@montecook's "The Weird" is perhaps the most Monte Cook product ever: just hundreds of pages of random one-line quirks and twists, spanning all genres. Many of them would also make good writing or drawing prompts.

Fixed! #dartmoor a single stone in a #StoneCircle drawing in #penandink with a bit more #watercolor added, I was worrying about contrast and wanted to keep it simple, but I think this worked anyway. #Menhirs #StandingStoneSunday

This year's definitive nature highlight for me: spontaneous encounter with the world's bravest Blue Tit...and a Great Grey Owl. 🦉Merry Xmas & Happy New Year! #Birds 🇫🇮 #birdsofmastodon #owls #birdphotography #birdwatching #NaturePhotography

The BIPOC Book Fair is today! in #pdx in inner SE! Books for kids, books from authors of color, about characters of color! All children welcome (probably adults too!)

If you don't cut the corners off the rectangles, is it even science fiction?

I (black) ended up losing this game by 1 point. I thought I was way ahead, so I need to learn to count better.

More importantly, AI Sensei says this move was a colossal blunder. Can you find the right move?

I dunno, man, even Lite is awfully darn crunchy. For a simple sword attack:

1) Look up the appropriate skill for the attacker.
2) Apply modifiers for maneuvering, bad footing, visibility, etc.
3) Roll to hit.
4) Oh, you thought we were done? Defender chooses to dodge, parry or block.
5) Apply modifiers to defense.
6) Roll the defense.
7) You still hit? Roll for damage.
8) Subtract damage resistance of target's armor.
9) Multiply the remaining damage by a modifier for the damage type. "Small piercing" and "large piercing" have different modifiers.
10) Apply damage to target's HP.
11) Did you cross 1/3 HP or some other threshold? Special rules apply.
12) Target takes DX and IQ penalties for the next turn only.

This is "the fundamental rules, but not the options and embellishments that often confuse new players".

A combat round is one second. Say ... wasn't this designed by the same person who did Car Wars? 🤔

The equipment list in the free GURPS Lite booklet seems much more reasonable.

Continuing to lean toward Dungeon Fantasy. I read the "adventurers" book and it doesn't jump the shark until the gear chapter. Do we really need different stats for ten different kinds of knives?

Pseudoboeuf is the name of my new prosthetic meat product.

bro can you even differentiate between a mace and a morning star

#2871 Definitely

@xkcd Low-key disappointed that there's no Defenestration of Prague joke here.

Another discovery: the Dungeon Fantasy bundle include the Dungeon Fantasy Companion, which includes Against the Rat-Men, the sequel to I Smell a Rat.
