Since there are 3GB replacement mainboards available now for the #pinephone I made a video on the process of replacing the board:
@gray Can you put up a link to it when you're done?
@Theverytechnologypony what is this in reference to?
WooHoo, QOTO is trending on reddits r/engineering! It has been getting us a nice influx of new users too, cool!
For those interested and have the skills/desire to contribute. #pine64 dropped a development challenge for hardware.
Nutcracker Challenge: Blob-Free WiFi & BLE | PINE64

@2ck now if we could get the bots to do that that would be awesome.
@2ck how'd it go? Never tried/wasn't too sure a good use case.
@gerowen I don't know why but this reminded me of all the POS machines I've seen in the last year still running XP.
@blinkwarp Welcome to qoto!
Latest #ArchLinuxARM with #Phosh for the #PinePhone works surprisingly well, I'd dare to even call it "daily-driver worthy".
In particular power management around the modem has been vastly improved thanks to Megi's work and perhaps most importantly call audio quality is now free of crackling noise with the latest 5.9 kernel.
(pacman -Syu as the first thing after you flash)
Thanks to Danct12, Megi & the PinePhone community for the work they've been doing on the SW.
Some new goodies for #Plasma are landing on unstable by Solus Plasma and KDE maintainer Girtablulu at the moment! Get ready for an update of:
- QT 5.15.1
- #KDE Applications 20.8.2
- KDE Framework 5.75
- Plasma Desktop 5.20.1
🎉
But as always, if you use the unstable repo, wait to update until we give the okay inside our IRC development channel, it's gonna take a while to build everything. Stable repo is still obviously not affected. 😀
@happybeing@mastodon.technology @eff I may just be out of touch but what is the RIAA?
@codeHaiku @paleobiologist@fosstodon.org good to hear, I've had a few that suck you in or don't have a mechanism to allow you to walk off when you have to cut it.
@codeHaiku @paleobiologist@fosstodon.org I've seen this pop up but haven't tried it yet. Is it something you can play in short runs or is it going to suck me in for hours?
@humanetech there should be more awareness campaigns about the - crucial - difference between git the protocol and github the site. Github's more of a social network rather than code hosting with their "features"
Aspiring System Admin, Software Developer, Network Administrator and/or Cyber Security Professional...in other words one day I'll know what I want to be when I grow up.
For now I tinker.
