Verse of the Day - January 3, 2020
www.bibletrivia.com

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Matthew 26:41 KJV
bible.com/bible/1/mat.26.41.KJ

Why this verse?

Jesus spoke these words as a warning to His disciples who had become too sleepy to keep watch in the Garden of Gethsemane. We can see two truths in this warning. First, prayer can keep us away from temptation. The more we pray, the more connected we will be to God. Being close to God will keep us from entering into temptation. Second, the spiritual self (the part of us that has been reborn) and our natural self (the flesh or sinful nature) are at odds with each other. They will want different things. Again, prayer will help. Prayer will help us grow away from who we used to be and closer to who we were created by God to be.
Pray. Pray. Pray. It’s as simple as that. Talk to God. About anything and everything. It will change your life. Set aside some time in the morning or the evening or in the middle of the day that you can be alone to talk to God.
