I found this video from How To ADHD to be highly encouraging, and helped bolster both my self-esteem and motivation.
Better yet, I think it applies to those without ADHD as well.

@alayna Bro I FEEL
@Laser That's sexist
1. While interventionist policies are unethical IMHO, I fail to see how the US government is oppressive, I am unaware of many examples of this.
2. They do? I actually haven't heard then talk about it at all.
@realcaseyrollins I just feel like it's a job nobody can really be good at. Especially when you have that many users. They're all trying to pull you in different directions, feeling entitled about everything, and a good number of people are trying to destroy you both from the outside and from within. You mentioned that he seems a bit unstable, and you're probably right, but that's what it does to people. I was unstable the whole time I ran Spinster, and I still feel unstable coming off the tail end of it. More than anything I'm amazed he's survived with that job for so long. He puts on a macho persona, but I'm sure he's somewhat broken inside. I have mad respect for his perseverance, and I would not wish the kind of hate he receives upon even my worst enemies.
There are people who do big things in the background and nobody notices them. For example, programmers who create operating systems, blockchains, etc. When your job involves being in the spotlight, with every aspect of it being broadcast and scrutinized by thousands of people, it can be extremely challenging.
@alex I'm still sympathetic to the users, but Torba's actions have evaporated my faith in him, and thus his ability to run an instance well, thus lowering my respect of the instance itself. Of course, coupled with its glaring software issues.
@farhan Hello there @mudgeelight! Nice to meet you! Although I think I have seen you before from my SFW alt account...
@farhan There are some similarities in the interventionism, but the government isn't used to turn on the citizens like they were in Rome.
@farhan (And there's nothing biblical about opposing banking and the military. In fact, whole there's little in the Bible about banks, there's a lot of evidence that God views armies as a good thing.)
@farhan On the #Trump issue, the Christian community is far more diverse than you give it credit for. Many are #NeverTrump voters. Others find him unappealing but are hoping his Supreme Court picks will end up overturning Roe V Wade. A precious few (led by the American Family Association) have convinced themselves that he's actually a Christian, despite his lack of piety, use of profanity (which I don't view as sinful, but they do), and his "pastor" Beth Moore's deep-seated theological issues.
@farhan You have a good point, that a lot of Protestantism is cultural, but I view the cultural movement as Baptist, since Protestantism is a specific belief system, while the Baptist denomination is very theologically diverse, with only rejection of infant baptism as a core doctrinal belief. I think all Protestants are Baptist, though.
Follow the Southern Baptist Convention and you will find it's more political than theological, sadly.

Matthew 22:37-39 is my mantra:
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
But Phillipians 4:4 is my favorite verse of all time:
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
